Ch 9

Row 1: dc in 4th ch from hook, * dc on each st accross.  At the end:  5 dc in the same st (see diagram A).  Repeat from * crocheting along the other side.  Join with sl st. Don't fasten off

Row 2:  sc on each st around the piece A (see diagram) , join with sl st

Row 3: ch 3, dc on each st around, join with sl st.  Fasten off.

Piece B:

insert hook on top of piece A (green arrow in diagram A)

Ch 3, 8 dc together on each one of next 8 st (following the direction of the orange arrow).  Don´t fasten off.

Top of the bootie:

Ch3 (in place of first dc), dc on each st around until starting point is reached, join with sl st.

ch, * sc on next st, ch, sl st on the base of the st (picot). Repeat from * until starting point is reached, join with sl st.  Fasten off.

Cord:  ch 50.   Weave the cord in the row of dc (base of the top of the bootie).
